HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!

Hey Y'all, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We stayed here in Thomasville and spent that day at Matt's parents house. There was sooo much food leftover you'd think we were feeding the whole neighborhood. :) And you know the plates are never big enough for holidays like this. Thanksgiving and Christmas need to have bigger plates. Fun was had by all here today, and almost a bit of swimming by Carson our niece. She was wanting to go swimming so Matt grabbed her and held her over the pool. She was laughing and and fussing at the same time. We ate, and played outside with the bikes and we tossed around the football. Papa even invented a new baseball game with a playground ball, and some wood blocks for bases. The weather was great, not too hot and not too cold. The leaves are starting to change colors so the day was very pleasant.

Then all the girls started looking at the sale ads, scoping out where to go and what to get for the official BLACK FRIDAY Shopping trip. The paper weighs about 5 pounds, and we went through the whole thing between us 5 girls (Amy, Crystal, Erin, Brandi, and Ronnell).

I decide to just stay here in Thomasville to do my shopping. I did't want to drive an hour to Tallahassee and an hour home, hoping I could find all that we needed here. I enjoy being able to get most of my Christmas shopping out of the way, but this was not fun at all. My alarm went off at 3:45 am EST. I was up almost 18 hours by the end of the day. We took what was going to be a short trip to Valdosta to get the pressure cooker I wanted, that ended up lasting almost 4 hours. We were trying to get over to CiCi's Pizza where the boys wanted to eat, and went in the wrong entrance sat in the Target parking lot stopped for about 30 minutes. We finally decided to just park and walk to CiCi's. Hoping the traffic would let up by the time we were done. The sale at Target must have ended right at 12 because when we came out it was not hard to get out of the parking lot, and there were a lot less cars.

We missed seeing all of you that are not near us for this holiday, and hope to see you all soon.

The pictures look like you all had fun. I didn't brave Tallahassee either for Black Friday. Dave and I wandered around Thomasville, but that was about it. When we lived in Seattle my two best girlfriends and I would pile in a van or suburban and head down to Portland, OR (there is no sales tax in OR) to go shopping (it was a three hour drive). No kids, no hubbies, just the three of us. We'd always get a room and there would be two queen beds--two would share a bed and one would get the other bed to herself--we rotated every year. It was our tradition and we all have wonderful memories. Generally what we saved in sales tax paid for our gas and our hotel room. I guess with today's gas prices it wouldn't even come near. That weekend we'd have all of our shopping done and if we got back early enough, we got all of it wrapped too! It was so FUN!! I miss them and our adventures SO much. They are the sisters I never had. :-)
