Matt & Owen Involved in Crash

On Tuesday morning, 9-4-07, Matt was taking Owen to a doctor's appointment in Tallahassee when they were rear-ended by a Jeep SUV while stopped at a red light on Thomasville Road. The driver of the Jeep was traveling fast enough that the impact caused Matt's car to then impact the back end of the Ford F-150 stopped in front of him. Unfortunately, Owen was injured in the accident, suffering a skull fracture necessitating a 2-day stay in the Pediatric ICU at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. During his stay, he was extremely brave and never cried except immediately after the accident before he was taken to the hospital by ambulance. We are happy to report that he is now doing well and has returned to school. The hard part now is to keep him from doing things that could result in him bumping his head on something - not easy for a super-active 6 year old. Below are some pictures of Matt's car taken after the crash. It served us well for 8 and a half years. It has been replaced by a 2007 Toyota Prius. Gotta love 60 miles per gallon.
